Vilanculos Beach Lodge: Guide for a girls trip to remember

Have you ever been to Mozambique? I’ve been four times now and each time I fall more and more in love with one of the most underrated countries in Africa. Mozambique is a popular destination for South Africans since the countries border each other. But to many international tourists, Mozambique is still just a place on the map. I first visited this paradise on a family trip when I was 14. We stayed in Tofo which is a coastal town in Southeastern Mozambique. We loved it so much that we went back to the same spot a few years later. Recently I got to experience a different part of Mozambique while staying at Vilanculos Beach Lodge on a girls trip. The reason for our trip? One of my best friends bachelorette parties. Continue reading “Vilanculos Beach Lodge: Guide for a girls trip to remember”

MSC Portuguese Island Cruise: Sunshine and pure bliss

Today I found my mind wandering back to a few years ago, to one of our first big trips together. An MSC Portuguese Island Cruise. A cruise to Maputo and The Portuguese island. For anybody who is unsure, The Portuguese island is a small, uninhabited island found off the coast of Mozambique, in Africa. It is nowhere close to Portugal. As South Africans – this was a trip that was not too far from home for us. Continue reading “MSC Portuguese Island Cruise: Sunshine and pure bliss”

The Best Spot for Parasailing in Mauritius

I’ve wanted to parasail for as long as I can remember. As an adrenaline junkie and ocean lover I couldn’t think of anything more perfect than gliding through the sky with the sea below you. And perfect it was. Parasailing in Mauritius was one of the best experiences – something that both Peter and I absolutely loved! The only downside was that it all happened far too quickly. We could have easily stayed for hours up there in the air. Continue reading “The Best Spot for Parasailing in Mauritius”

The Best Place To Stay In Mauritius: A Week In Paradise

Ah, Mauritius – what a dream!! Affectionately known as paradise on Earth, Mauritius is a place that I’ve been wanting to visit forever. My dream came true when we spent a week in Mauritius back in January. I mean the picturesque beaches, warm oceans, the array of sea life and the soft, white beach sand, what more could a beach lover like myself ask for?? Continue reading “The Best Place To Stay In Mauritius: A Week In Paradise”

Kruger Park Walking Trails: Mathikithi Trail

The Kruger Park Walking trails are three-night guided walking tours that include a Wilderness experience like no other. From exploring areas in the park that are virtually untouched by people to learning new things, it’s one of the most surreal, intense, and special safari experiences possible. When Peter and I knew that we would be back in South Africa for a few months, we jumped at the opportunity to join the Mathikithi trail with four of our closest friends. The Kruger Park has a number of different trails to choose from, but we opted for this one since it’s close to the Satara camp. Also, we only booked a couple of months in advance so many of the other trails were already fully booked. You have to book as long as a year in advance for certain Kruger Park walking trails. Vilanculos to Bazaruto: Spending the day on Bazaruto Island

A sanctuary for the soul – that’s the best way to describe Bazaruto Island. Just think unspoiled beach, silky soft sand, large sand dunes, and a bountiful of marine life; Bazaruto is a near pristine tropical paradise. Back in August, while on a girls trip, we took a boat trip out from Vilanculos to Bazaruto for the day. This was how I got to experience this hidden gem. Robberg Hike: Guide to Hiking the Robberg Nature Reserve

You know when somebody asks you if you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? Well, I don’t have one specific answer because I want to go everywhere but the Garden Route would be in my top five every time. It may sound biased seeing as I am South African, but hey, the heart wants what it wants! And right in the middle of the Garden Route, a few minute’s drive outside of Plettenberg Bay, you will find Robberg Nature Reserve – one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. I’ve been visiting the Garden Route with my family since I was a kid. But I only visited Robberg for the first time a few weeks back when I finally did the Robberg Hike. The <b”>Garden Route is an incredible place for all kinds of outdoor activities. The most popular are the world-class hiking trails, of which the Robberg hiking trail is the most iconic.
