Siquijor Island is one of the most mystical islands of the Philippines. The moment Peter and I arrived we felt the magic of what is locally known as Esla del Fuego –  translated into “island of fire” because of the glow caused by the numerous fireflies that come out at night. An island notorious for stories about witchcraft, healing, and sorcery, but for most tourists it’s all about the natural beauty.
